Dear Granny,
I absolutely do not understand why it is necessary for people to walk around in public and talk on a phone at the same time. People driving cars are talking on the phone and not concentrated on the traffic. Many kids have cell phones and they look like the phone is attached to their ear. These “I-Pod” things….that’s another mystery. I pass people in public places and they appear to be talking to themselves. How can they have a private conversation! Why would they think that I want to hear their personal business? But the worse thing is people who talk into the phone and completely ignore their companions. How Rude!!!!!
Dear “BB”,
I don’t understand this myself. I need to take a break from everyday life when it’s
possible. I love to drive my old car and look at the scenery. We are so blessed by living in this beautiful world God has made for us. The sky is breath-taking with all the colors. I like to sit outside and watch and listen to the birds. I want to appreciate what our Heavenly Father has given us and spend time in thanking Him for all He has done for me. Psalms tells us to: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
One problem may be that “we” are afraid of being with ourselves. The Holy Spirit reminds us of sins we have committed. We attempt to ignore His voice by trying to keep busy. We seek other distractions by talking nonsense to friends, keeping busy with mundane issues, anything that keeps us from facing the Holy Spirit. But God will not go away.
He loved us so much that He allowed His Son to die on the cross….JUST FOR ME. If old Granny had been the only person in the world, God would have given His only Son just for me. And He loves you that much also.
